ShyanN | senior session

"Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay."

- Robert Frost

This golden hour senior session started to really remind me of Robert Frost's legendary metaphoric poem about youth, innocence and growth as the sun set and amazing tones emerged, especially as Shyann got more comfortable in front of the camera as we went along. It started out as a very innocent, set and simple indoor shoot. I knew I wanted to do something transformative to offset that when we started shooting outside, though. I put this color dress and lip on her, mussed up her hair like she'd been in some kind of warm wind, and it was youth transforming before our very eyes, with her personality and confidence really coming through.
