American Honey | The Gunne Sax Shoot

This group session based in the 1800’s was entirely inspired by Jessica McClintock’s Made In America vintage Gunne Sax prairie dresses that I love so much. As a collector and lover of the unique pieces, I outfitted each female model in one from my personal studio wardrobe and we shot at an Arabian Horse farm in Meridian, ID during the summer of 2019. I wanted to convey a simplicity of life with a touch of the wild west.

This session was loosely inspired by the lessons scene in Alice in Wonderland, with Maranda playing the teacher and Olivia & Kiani the playful school girls. I wanted it to have an 1800's feel to it, but still be colorful and whimsical.
